Fiona had landed late last night, her visa up and needing to return back to Eureka, she had contacted her former work and told them she would be back. Though, she hadn't really expected her next day of work to be at ten am the day after she landed. Time change, it was going to kill her. As she got up from the couch, her furniture not unpacked from her storage unit yet, or the pieces she had sold off rebought, she was planning on sleeping on the floor for a few days. It seemed easier than having to spend the twelve hours she had at her home doing anything but sleeping. Perhaps it was a bad idea as she was never going to get used to her new sleep schedule, but Fiona didn't mind. She was at least getting back to work. Getting something done and putting her mind to something, but she hadn't expected Asher to be there that day. She hadn't asked, though as she jogged up to the store just after opening, Fiona sighed. Static-X. Asher was opening. Great. It was the horrible Thursday morning mix that she had known and despised for ages. It had to stop.

Shutting the door behind her, Fiona kept her large black sunglasses over her eyes, the dark black peacoat wrapped around her as she slid over the counter and kicked the cd player with her sneakers. "No." She said lightly, popping open the player and putting her own mix cd in before sliding out of her jacket and smiling over at Asher. "No Thursday mix the first day I'm back. How many Thursdays have I been gone? This is my day, sweetheart." Though she might not have acted it, she wanted to run over and actually say hi, give him a hug, skip out of work and just catch up face to face, but work. They needed to at least stick around long enough for the next crew to come in. Sliding out of her jacket, Fiona tucked it under the counter next to her large black bag containing her sketchbook as she often found work to get boring and needed to keep occupied.

"So, is there anything I need to be caught up on? Or is everything the same around here?" Asher appeared to be the same, Fiona thought she was as well. Maybe a little tanner, skinnier, a new tattoo plastered to the top of her foot, but that was really all. She was still just the typical girl he had known for years. She yawned, sliding back across the counter and nodding to the rest of the people in the store. "And if you are going to sing, at least sing something decent." She stated pointing up at the speakers as Draw Japan by the Horrors started playing.

Fiona was ready to shut down the store, if someone else came in looking for sap she felt like she might eventually snap. It had only been a few weeks since she returned home from Florence but it felt like a lifetime had happened already. Work was boring, her personal life had hit a stand still and if she lost her house keys one more time, she was going to start setting them up to beep somehow. A vegetarian burrito in her hand as she sat just outside of the front door checking her email on her phone, Fiona spotted Jesus from a mile away. Not that it was hard to spot one of the only heavily tattooed guys in Humboldt. He was trying to get his band off of the ground, from what she remembered he worked down the street, or he had before she left, and she got to see his posters get better and better as time went on. Though, she wasn't sure if the band was getting better or if just the artist was getting better. She could have offered to help, but she didn't want him to think that she thought his posters were bad. It felt wrong to do it, but no matter, things were getting better. "Hey." Fiona said lightly in between bites of her lunch and waved, "You coming in to hang things up or to just chill? Because there's space on the board in the back and no one in the store right now."

It was why she was sitting outside after all, it was nice enough to do it and she wanted to smoke and eat outside of the store. They still wouldn't let her smoke inside of the store, something about getting ash on the country music last time she did and setting off the alarm. She didn't really care and often enough if she was the only one around at night, she would anyway. But one of those new people were inside, Fiona was trying to set a good example. Though she really wasn't the best to try that. She was the laziest member of the staff, she showed up late, stayed as long as she wanted and tended to take too many sick days. But she knew her stuff, she knew music far too well and they couldn't fire her for anything that important.

Standing up, her burrito finished, Fiona tossed the trash in the small bin by the door and sighed, "Right, so anything new? I still feel really out of the area. Facebook just doesn't keep you in contact as much as it wants to pretend it does." Walking over to the cd player, kicking the new guy off of her spot on the counter, Fiona pointed over to the board, "We still have some of your old stuff hanging up there, I think a cd or two has sold in the last year. I try. But you know how it is."

Nothing fancy here, since pictures were hard to come by, but he's the bandmate of someone else I iconned and I wanted the whole set. Gotta catch 'em all!

Alex's Fourth Annual Candy Advent Calendar Hunt is a failure.

Why must I constantly be denied such cheap chocolatey goodness?

1. My username is ______ because ______: 24601, which is a reference to Les Miserables, one of my favoritefavoritefavorite books and musicals. 24601 is Jean Valjean's prisoner number (in the musical, it's not quite as musical in the book), and it's how Javert, the cop that's always after him, sees him, as a criminal and a prisoner instead of a guy with the possibility of reform. It's all dramatic when he reveals it in the play, and he's all, "Who am I? Who am IIII? TWO-FOUR-SIX-OH-OOOOOOOOOONE." And in the version I saw at least he ripped his shirt open and was all, "CHECK MY 24601 TAT," and I was all, "OKAY YOU'RE AN AWESOME SINGER BUT YOU GOT A POT BELLY, PUT THAT SHIT AWAY."

2. My name is _____ because ______: "disgruntled goat" because he had his moments. It's from a Simpsons episode, where they got to Itchy and Scratchyland and it's a parody of Westworld, and Bart and Lisa are in the gift shop and Lisa asks about all these different stuffed animals on one of the shelves. Bart says they were from a failed Itchy and Scratchy variety hour I think? Anyways, one of them was Disgruntled Goat, and when Lisa says they weren't very good, Bart goes, "I dunno, Disgruntled Goat had his moments." And since I'm the goat girl, and the Simpsons girl, I had to use it. It was about time I changed it from "(william) control freak".

3. My journal is titled ____ because ____: "This Journal is Property of Rut Ru Enterprises, Inc./and he seduced my mom to get it". From Minghags. One of (MY LOVE) Brandon DiCamillo's characters is Rut Ru, an evil corporate man who steals Dico's other character's invention, and he seduces his mom to get it, and I'm so fucking in love with Brandon DiCamillo it went from not even funny to kind of funny again, so I used it.

4. My default userpic is ____ because ____: Seth Green and Joel McHale, when Seth pretty much climbed Joel like a redwood on The Soup. I couldn't stop watching that bit, because I love tiny tiny Seth Green and Joel's all giant and and and yeah. Hi.

In other news you guys, I finished NaNo with a completed story! I had to kill Burton at the end, poor guy, but I finished the story! First time I've managed to do that, even though I ended with less words than my previous attempts, which had... way more story to go. Like, a lot. A lot a lot.

I'm going to be playing a Cheryl-character-sibling.
